Life Insurance

Life insurance pricing depends on your age, health, tobacco use, coverage amount, policy type, and other underwriting factors. There is no single monthly price that applies to everyone. An online example can give you context, but an individualized quote is what makes the decision useful.
LIMRA and Life Happens' 2025 research found that roughly three-quarters of adults overestimated life insurance costs. Before deciding protection is out of reach, it is worth checking what your actual options look like.
Even when two applicants request the same death benefit, the insurer may assess their health histories and other risks differently. Different carriers can also evaluate the same applicant differently.
The product matters too. A term policy and a permanent cash-value policy serve different purposes and should not be compared as if their monthly premiums buy identical features.
Before choosing the lowest number, put these details side by side:
For permanent coverage, ask what the proposed premium is expected to accomplish and what is actually guaranteed. An illustrated outcome is not the same as a contractual promise.
Think about a normal month and a difficult month. What payment could you sustain in both? Then compare the protection available within that range.
You do not need to arrive knowing the perfect policy. Bring your questions, existing coverage, and the responsibilities you want to protect.
It depends on the applicant and product. Request quotes with the same coverage amount and term rather than treating an advertised sample rate as your rate.
No. An insurer may still use health questions, records, and other underwriting information. Guaranteed-issue coverage is a separate category with its own limits and terms.
Yes. Ask what is an estimate, what requires an application, and when any payment obligation begins.
